We scooped a gold award at the prestigious Food and Drink Federation Community Partnership Awards on October 28th for our work with 600 local primary school pupils during 2007/08. During our ‘Seed to Chip’ programme, pupils were tasked with growing their own potatoes, and seeing the fruits of their labour go through the manufacturing process at Tyrrells Court Farm.

Huge congratulations and thanks to all the people that made this programme a success, including all the enthusiastic pupils, teachers and Tyrrells staff, especially Lorna, Helen, Claire and Jess for spending many many hours talking eloquently about potatoes! With the help of the Federation of City Farms & Community Gardens Charity, we’re expanding the programme in 2009 to include several inner city schools – we’ll keep you posted with photos and news! www.farmgarden.org.uk
