Our February newsletter wouldn’t be complete without a snowy scene. Thank you to Janice, our HR Manager for taking this beauty on February 3rd, and for reminding us that Tyrrells Court Farm, Herefordshire is a beautiful place to work! We’re probably a bit biased, so feel free to share your own snowy moments with us by email or post. News from the Farm…

Harry and the team are busy preparing our seed potatoes Lady Rosetta, Lady Claire and Hermes for planting. Selected for their flavour and texture, these varieties help us to produce the best tasting chips around. The new potato planting year starts with the all important process of chitting our seed potatoes. This gives them a helping hand to sprout and a head start once they’re in the ground. Our seed potatoes are currently stored in nets to keep them at their ideal sprouting temperature. The first of our early potatoes will be planted in March, and harvested in August.

We spend a great deal of time tasting chips here at Tyrrells. We hold a tasting panel each week, during which we all sample a selection of potato and root vegetable chips, and we score the tastiness, crunch factor, aroma and general appearance. We thought we’d extend our tasting panel experience and invite you, our loyal followers to become official ‘Tyrrells Tasters’. Each month, 100 panel members will receive a FREE sample box with up to 5 free bags of Tyrrells to review, either online at our website or via a simple postcard. The comments help us make our range even better, and enable you to have a good old nosey at what others have to say. Sign up here!
