The daffs are out and all is well at Tyrrells Court. We’re busy planting our 2009 potato crop, see below for a short video of Paddy Kennedy, our farm manager talking about the planting process.
Thanks to Helen, our Harper Adams placement student for filming the activities, and for impressing Paddy and Wayne with her fork lift driving skills.

We were baffled and bemused by this giant Lady Claire potato, found whilst planting up at Westhope field, near Canon Pyon on Monday. This giant tuber is thought to have been trapped underground by a large boulder, and unearthed following heavy rain and hail at the weekend. Local potato experts have guessed the tuber’s age to be about 3 years old, and weight to be in the region of 104.09kg. Julie and Jess are pictured at Tyrrells holding the bumper spud. Give us your views on this momentous find by emailing tyrrelling@tyrrellspotatochips.co.uk
